The Winthrop Group, Digital Archivist / January 2021-Present
- As an archivist for the Winthrop Group, I’ve gained a valuable variety of hands-on experiences by working on multiple projects, both short and long term. Clients I have worked with include Ford Motor Company, Columbia University, The International House of New York, Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, The Chapin School, and The Simons Foundation. This work has ranged from preparing entire collections to be moved off-site, to getting large volumes of documents and photographs cataloged and prepared for digitization, to conducting quality control over digital media.
Rocal, Inc. Data Entry / February 2020-Present
- In my position as data entry clerk for the road sign fabrication company, Rocal Inc., I analyze various site plans of roadway engineering and locate the relevant manufacturing information. This experience has allowed me to familiarize myself with various kinds of production drawings, as well as increasing my knowledge of a variety of software services.
Lesbian Herstory Archives, Archival Assistant Intern / August 2019 – January 2020
- At the Lesbian Herstory Archives I directed a team of three interns in designing a digital processing project of the graphics collection. Composed of an assortment of materials, the artifacts required original contextual descriptions of content, and had specific preservation needs. This information and initial digital thumbnails of items were added to a database developed with Inmagic DB/TextWorks software. Additionally, I completed an instruction guide for the established procedures for future archivists who would be continuing the project.
Long Island University Brooklyn Campus, Reference Desk Assistant / September 2018 – December 2019
- As a reference assistant at LIU’s Brooklyn campus, I was able to develop my instruction skills by teaching students how to utilize academic research databases, enhancing their digital literacy and research abilities. Both oral and written intercommunication were required, as I multitasked between in-person, online, and phone reference services.
